An Aladdin’s cave established in April 2023 by a husband and wife team, oh and supervisor Odin. We opened to give the people of flint, something unique and different to shop for on your doorstep! From handmade wax melts to ethically sourced sage, to some absolutely breath-taking crystals, to handmade macrame that you'll see me making in-store. In 2024 we sadly had to close our doors and go online and events only. Until now that is, with the birth of our website.
From a young age I was always drawn to crystals and fossils, even if it was just because one looked pretty, or that's what I thought back then. I collected the entire series of treasures of the earth and would wait excitedly to see what I got each week and to learn more about how they're made and formed. As I grew, I tried to suppress this hobby as it was a bit out there compared to what the others in school liked but I always felt drawn to them.
Once I reached college, I rediscovered my love for them and found a saviour in aromatherapy with using incense to help me sleep. As I grew, I struggled with my mental health and in 2020 I was finally told what I had! PTSD, depression, and anxiety. Through trying different types of treatment, I kept noticing I was always drawn to the more old school ways of coming back to peace, that being meditation, incense, crystals and exploring nature.
In 2023 I had the opportunity to open a shop in Flint and I knew just what I wanted to do, and it was what the general consensus was, an Aladdin’s cave type shop selling crystals, incense, and the likes!
As a child I was always heartbroken I couldn't get much with my pocket money because of the high prices so I knew I wanted to be able to keep those prices affordable to everyone. I wanted to be a safe place for those trying to seek peace and healing to come and dip their toe into the ways used thousands of years ago. I wanted to make sure I made most of what I could myself, if not, I'd be sure to support other small businesses across the world. It might be hocus pocus to some, but others find solace and hope in aromatherapy and crystal use and I've had too many experiences for it to all just be coincidence. My hope is to being some happiness and a sense of community for those lost in the fog of their life and to know they’re not alone in their beliefs, there's a whole bunch of us who find this works for them, supervisor Odin is always near to make sure you’re getting the best products we can! I (Jas) am also always looking at ways to better your experience by delving deeper into witchcraft and by becoming Reiki Level 2 attuned.
